GRAMERCY ARMS is a collective of New York-based musicians comprising members of Guided By Voices, Luna, Joan As Police Woman and The Dambuilders lead by my pal and Negatives bassist Dave Derby.

Their debut album features guest performances by Sarah Silverman, Chris Brokaw and Joan Wasser as well as present and former members of Nada Surf, The Pernice Brothers, Dead Air, Shudder To Think and me.

It’s great. I think Dave has finally got his PowerPop/Fleetwood Mac thing onto record properly.

Or as the Guardian puts it – “At last! A supergroup that doesn’t suck … Gramercy Arms” (Band of The Day)

What exactly do I do on this record? I play synthesizer on “Fakin’” which is an update of an old Brilliantine tune “Taken”.

And for the youth who might have accidentally stumbled upon this page – my 16 yr old loves this record too!
